Trude Dothan

Trude Dothan, one of Israel's most significant archaeologists, spent much of the 1970s and early 80s uncovering a find of great historical importance in the Deir el-Balah area near Gaza City.  One of Ancient Egypt's most distant military outposts, it marked the King's Highway to Ancient Canaan.

This fantastic book gives an excellent overview of the dig and its findings, as well as many photographs and illustrations of the exciting finds, particularly the many anthropoid coffins she discovered.
