A unique blend of contemporary Israeli art and traditional symbolism, this vibrantly colored lithograph from Israeli artist Moshe Castel is designed to resemble a page from the Hagadah, showcasing two scenes from the Exodus story as well as a portrayal of a family taking part in the Seder meal. A wonderful work of art, this lithograph will make a terrific gift for Passover, a birthday, a housewarming or any other special occasion.
Born to a Rabbinic family in 1909, Moshe Castel was accepted into the Bezalel Art School aged just 13. After four years he moved to Paris, where he worked and studied for 13 years before returning to Israel and the mystical holy city of Safed in Northern Israel. His vibrant work uses unusual media to create exceptional pieces depicting Bible stories, Sephardic culture and life in Israel. His work is displayed in several prominent Israeli institutions, including the Knesset (Israel’s parliament), the Rockerfeller Center in New York, and the President’s home in Jerusalem.
