This Passover Plate is a replica of one of the few preserved objects of Jewish ceremonial art from Spain prior to the expulsion of the Jews in 1492.

Shaped and decorated in a manner typical of contemporary Spanish houseware plates, it features repeated motifs of gadroons, and floral and geometric designs in brownish-gold and cobalt blue. The inscription refers to the three main elements of the Passover feast: pesach (paschal lamb), matzah (unleavened bread), and maror (bitter herbs), as well as the word seder. The spelling errors suggest that the plate was comissioned from a non-Jewish craftsman who was unfamiliar with Hebrew.

Please Note: This Passover Seder plate comes with six porcelain dishes at an additional cost.
