Tel Aviv, Israel is commonly known as the "Vegan Capital of the World" and the world is not wrong about it. Boutique vegan restaurants flock the busy streets of Tel Aviv, but you can find vegan food across the country, as Israel's national foods are falafel and hummus, both of which are plant based. Israel has embraced this change and it has actually influenced artists and designers to become more aware of what materials they use. If you have a friend who is vegan and loves Israel but has never been, here are a few vegan items that might be right up their ally.

Bags

Bags are something everyone needs, whether its for the groceries or for just carrying your stuff from place to place. Aside for a great selection of fun print tote bags, but also stylish designer bags made from vegan leather. Any of these bags would have you being questioned for where you got such a great bag and give you dozens of compliments. Some are obviously Israeli and others are pure fashion, but each is made with love and truely fantastic. Bags are something you can use over and over again without going out of style.

❤︎ We love this silver vegan leather bag and this Shlep tote.

Date Honey

You might have heard that Israel is the "Land of Milk and Honey" but did you know many think honey is referring to date honey? Dates have been growing in Israel for thousands of years, and were actually fruit found in the land when the Jews first made it back to Israel in biblical times. Silan as it is called in Hebrew, is a delicious honey replacement and is great in baking or cooking, or with your apples on Rosh Hashanah. Date honey, just like regular honey, has antibacterial compounds to help fight off different infections, but date honey is actually found to be even more effective!

❤︎ We love this Silan from Lin Farms.

Olive Wood Gifts

Olive wood gifts are incredibly special as some of the oldest olive trees in the world are in Israel. In Israel, there is a biblical law still enforced today that says olive trees cannot be cut down so all of these original gifts are made from fallen wood. There are olive wood gifts for the whole house, from kitchenware to home decor such as figurines like camels and elephants, and wall art. Olive wood gifts are classic and original gifts from Israel that simply cannot be beat.

❤︎ We love this classic camel figurine and this magnet.

AHAVA Products

AHAVA has taken a cruelty-free pledge, guaranteeing that none of their products are tested on animals and the stuff that is not from the Dead Sea is all plant based. The Dead Sea itself has minerals that heal even the most sensitive skin types, but works with all different skin types. Their wonder lotions, bath salts, soaps, and oils have always been a favorite, winning international awards and the hearts of their customers. You can never go wrong with any AHAVA product as a gift for vegans and non-vegans alike.
