This amazing sterling silver ring features a silver replica of the ancient half shekel coin which was used in circulation during the Jewish Great Revolt against Rome (33-70 C.E.). Featured are three pomegranates on a stem and surrounded by the words "Holy Jerusalem" in ancient Hebrew script. 
The coin was discovered at the Temple Mount Sifting Operation at Emek Tzurim on the Mount of Olives and dates to the years 66/67 CE.
A classic Jewish decorative motif, the pomegranate has been grown for thousands of years in the Mediterranean region, and is referenced throughout the Bible as one of the 7 species native to the Land of Israel.
