This Kiddush cup stands on three silver balls and is decorated with a fish-scale pattern. According to the triple hallmarks stamped on the base of the original, the cup can be dated to the years 1787-1790, from the city of Nuremberg. It was made by the master silversmith Johann Friedrich Ehe, who created other works of Jewish ceremonial art for the expanding German-Jewish community in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
