A simply gorgeous and practical gift idea! The Shabbat Set consists of a tower that disassembles to become a complete set for greeting the Sabbath on Friday night, and for bidding farewell to the Sabbath on Saturday night.
There is a kiddush cup with a stand (which holds the havdalah candle), and a holder for 2 candles (with brass inserts included). When the holder is turned upside down, it becomes the havdalah spice box. The set features a colorful cheerful Jerusalem motif. The design was hand-painted with a brush using acrylic colors and then lacquered. Vivid and harmonious colors characterize the hand-painted wood.
As these pieces are covered with three layers of lacquer, it is totally functional and waterproof and may be hand-washed.
Israel’s most popular artist Yair Emanuel studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, and now lives and works in Jerusalem. He creates stunning Judaica and art from a range of media, ranging from hand-painted silk and hand-sewn embroidery to brightly painted wood and muted metals.
