This pastel-colored work of art shows a little boy clutching a balloon, standing just outside the picture's "frame" as he looks forward onto an imaginary, tree-lined street in the artist's native Paris. Tall buildings with the city's iconic arched windows line the streets, and men float through the air holding open umbrellas in a multitude of colors. Perfect for the dreamer in your house, this beautiful picture would make a sensational gift.
Paris-born artist Jean-Pierre Weill was raised in New York, where he studied and perfected his technique and form at the School of Visual Arts. Aside from his multi-dimensional oil canvas paintings, he is best known for innovating a new art form called vitreography: by painting arrangements across layered sheets of glass, he created three-dimensional framed art capturing still life arrangements, landscapes, and fanciful, imaginative scenes. His innovation has earned him wide-spread accolade across Israel and the world.
