This beautiful ceramic magnet was handmade in Italy by renowned artist Joel Itman. This design is inspired by an amulet limestone plaque (5th century CE) which was meant to protect the house. In addition, the artist depicts four Hamsas and also two evil eyes to defend against the power of the evil eye. Shmirat la Bayit ("house protection") is written in Hebrew at the bottom.
The Hamsa symbol is the ancient symbol of Divine protection against negative energies and remains to this day a symbol of luck and protection, making it a popular decorative motif throughout Jewish art and jewelry.
A charming piece of artwork which makes a great way to style the fridge or any place you can put a magnet and a wonderful gift for any age.
