This gorgeous tapestry is so wonderful, your living room or bedroom will never be the same! In the center is the Biblical verse Yasimcha Elokim Ke'efrayim Vechimenashe ("May God make you as Ephraim and as Menashe.") (Genesis 48:20). It was Jacob's wish that Jewish fathers bless their sons this way, and so it has been through the millenia.
The pomegranate border is a classic Jewish decorative motif.
The fringes are made from glass and metal beads. The tapestry may be hung from the attached string.
Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel's work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio. The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
