The design consists of the emblem, as well as the words “Yechidat Chilutz ve’Hapinuy b’Heitas - Rescue and Evacuation Unit.” Unit 669 is the Israel Defense Forces’s primary special tactics rescue unit. They are an elite heliborne combat extraction unit that is trained to rescue injured combat soldiers when under fire, whether that be behind enemy lines or in the water, sky, or land.
